I'm an independent software consultant based in Scotland, and I help teams build software that lasts.
I’ve been building software commercially for almost 30 years - long enough to have seen most of the ways it goes wrong, and a few of the ways it goes right.
These days I work for myself. I help teams make good technical decisions, lead projects when they need a steady hand, and build things properly. I also make my own small software products, which keeps me honest: I have to live with the same trade-offs I advise other people on.
